Hollis' name means "oneness, unity, shalom, wholeness, restoration."   This is significant because little Hollis is the result of a "healed breach" in our family, and, in a larger sense, represents restoration and unity in the Body of Christ.  This is, indeed, a Hollistic story.

As many of you may be aware, after nearly one-week of breastfeeding Hollis, we noticed something was wrong.  Hollis began running temperatures, and upon investigation, the doctors discovered he had a virus of the herpes type, called "Disseminated Disease."  This was a shock to us since neither Jennifer nor I (David) had ever had such a thing; however, we have since discovered that 20% of Americans carry this virus unawares because it lies dormant without any manifestations for years or even a lifetime.  Realizing that this disease carried a 70-80% mortality rate and that less than half the survivors (see US News & World Report) escape without significant brain damage or disabilities, we know that the Lord is able to change things, and make the situation a fortunate one---we believe Hollis will have a wonderful testimony of God's healing power.

Therefore, we are going to use this site to post a progress report/update, which will save me much time from writing emails.  Just click on the hypertext "Update," and you will be able to find PROGRESS REPORTS every day or two.  Friends and churches across Europe and America are praying for little Hollis ---God has a wonderful destiny for this little life!  Will you join with us?? . . .
